Give the funny old man some pie

Comedian and magician PENN GILLETTE, who recently celebrated his “magical” birthday (that once-in-a-lifetime event when your age and your birth year are the same-in this case, 55 for Mr. Gillette) ruminates in the LA Times on the experience of becoming “the old guy,” and how it is easier to face ageing when you weren’t really good-looking in the first place. Mr. Gillette confirms what 40 To Life has known all along: There is life after 40-even 50, and the candle sometimes burns brightest when it is halfway down.
